Abstract

253,089. Maag-Zahnrõder und-Maschinen Akt.-Ges. June 2, 1925, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Turning. - A grinding-disc employed for grinding the teeth of gear-wheels is trued by means of a diamond, which is moved by an involute generating device across the operative faces of the disc. A reducing gear for producing, from one generating device, correctly shaped faces corresponding to gear-wheels of various diameters of base circle also may be employed. The device is employed in a gear grinding machine comprising a table 1, a grinding-disc 2 and a slide 3 supporting the gear-wheel 5, and consists of a slide 4 movable to bring the diamond 6 beneath the axis of the disc 2 for trueing this. On the slide is mounted a cylinder 7 of diameter equal to that of the base circle of the gear-wheel, and on this cylinder two jigs 8 may be rolled, steel bands 9 and a spring 12 ensuring rolling without slipping. The jigs are connected by transverse webs and carry an arm 10 carrying the diamond 6, the arm being rotatable, about the cylinder axis, to positions determined by stops 11, so that both sides of the grinding-disc may be trued. The edge of the grinding-disc may be turned, before trueing the faces, by a diamond carried by an arm pivoted on a carrier. The reducing device consists of a cylinder 7, of diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the largest gearwheel to be ground, upon which may be rolled a jig 8 having bands 9 and slidably connected to a carrier 20 rotatable about the axis of the cylinder. The jig 8 has a pin 15 engaging a lever 14 at a radius equal to that of the cylinder, and adjustable up and down on the carrier is a table 22 carrying a member 17 slidable in a direction parallel to the jig 8; this member 17 carries the diamond mounting 10, 11, and also a pin 16 also engaging the lever 14. The reduction in scale of the movement of the diamond corresponds to the ratio of the distances of the axes of the pins 16, 15 from the axis of the lever 14.
