Abstract

Rotary machines ; ruling-appliances ; inking- apparatus; printing and embossing surfaces. - A rolling hand-stamp comprises marking, perforating, or embossing members provided with gripping parts, such as split sleeves q, for securing them adjustably on a spindle b carried by a handle k. Figs. 1 and 2 show ruling - appliances, the members comprising annular discs p supplied with ink from a felt roller s behind which a shield t is arranged. In this construction, the spindle b is removable. In the form shown in Fig. 3, inking is effected by a pad n mounted in a box m radially arranged with respect to the spindle b. This form is particularly adapted for ruling cash columns, the ink pad being cut away at the lower corners, narrowed, or provided with packing pieces u whereby the end discs may be moved out of contact with the inkpad. A slit l may be provided in box m to allow insertion of a pointed device for adjusting the pad n. The discs p may carry perforating points as in Fig. 8, or may print or emboss squares, geometrical designs, or music lines.
