Abstract

252,094. Knight, A. W. May 29, 1925. Sights.-A sporting gun or rifle in which the barrel wall is thinner at the muzzle than at the breech, is provided at the muzzle with a foresight adapted to compensate for this difference, and so prevent shooting high, comprising studs or a horizontal bar the top edge of which is at the same height from the axis of the bore as the outside of the chambers. As shown in Fig. 1, studs a<1> are formed on a ring a adapted to fit over the muzzle. In the construction shown in Fig. 5, studs a' are carried by two clip members a adapted to fit over the two barrels of a doublebarrelled gun. In a modification, Fig. 7, the device comprises a bar having two flat portions c<1> between which is sunk the usual sight c<2>. The centre rib e is reduced in thickness towards the muzzle so that the marksman can see below the bar.
