Couplings; sheathing or covering, connection of. - Electric couplings of the type in which flexible heads are retained bv a pair of gripping elements which have movement in a direction transverse to the leads, a third element is provided which is subjected to compression between the leads and one of the gripping members. This element may be rigid, flexible, reversible or interchangeable with others. Figs. 8 and 9 show the reversible third member e<3> in each its two positions, clamping two leads between the gripping members a, b in one case and clamping a single compound lead in the other. A further resilient strip g may be added, Fig. 10, if desired. The third member may take a variety of shapes suitable for gripping the particular type of lead used. In Fig. 19, a rotatable cam-shaped piece j, and a block i, are used, to grip leads of various diameters. Specification 234,925 is referred to.
