Abstract

251,521. Clark, J. M. Oct. 9, 1925. Aerials.-An aerial consists of an elongated tube devoid of air and filled with a gas of relatively high conductivity and provided with a metal member centrally disposed therein and connected to terminals 20, 21. A pluralitv of tubes may be arranged to form a loop as shown in Fig. 10. The metal member may comprise a tube, an undulating strip of wire or a coil of bare wire wound on formers 11 - - 14 which may be slotted to space the wires. In a modification a tube and a coil of wire may be used in parallel. Springs may be employed to support the metal member in the tube which is preferably of glass or alternatively restrictions in the tube may be provided.
