Pressure - regulating valves.- A pressure-regulating valve of the kind actuated by conduit pressure acting on a differential piston under the control of an auxiliary valve seating on the main valve and actuated by a piston or diaphragm arranged co-axially with the main valve, has the actuating chamber connected to the outlet side of the main conduit through a regulated passage. In the form shown in Fig. 1 the auxiliary valve g seats on the underside of the main valve a and is connected by a spindle g<1> to an actuating plunger j loaded by dead weights k. Inlet pressure is admitted to the chamber at the back of the main piston e through a passage l controlled by a valve l<1> and outlet pressure is admitted to the chamber i beneath the plunger through a conduit m regulated by a valve m'. The plunger j may be replaced by a diaphragm and the dead weights may be replaced by a weighted lever or an adjustable spring. The auxiliary valve may be arranged, to seat on the upper side of the main valve and the main valve may be loaded by a spring. Fig. 3 shows a lubricating chamber j<1> having inlet and outlet connections to an oil supply arranged for lubricating the plunger and pilot valve spindle.
