Abstract

250,813. Major, A. Aug. 24, 1925. Cooling - tanks fitted with holders for milk cans.-A water tank 10 into which milk churns or cans 18 are lowered for cooling after filling is provided with means for maintaining the cans in an upright position during the filling operation. Along the base of the tank are arranged parallel bars 12 placed on edge and spaced by cross-bars 14 having flat lugs 15 engaging the faces of the bars 12. At one end the outer bars 12 are connected by a bend 16 and spaced upright bar members 19, 20, 21, with flared upper ends 26, are rigidly secured to the bend. These upright bars are stayed by cross-members 23, while other upright members 24 are resiliently mounted on the rigid bars by spring arms 25 which provide an opening for lateral insertion or removal of the can. The empty cans are preferably inserted singly into the holder at the top, and after each can is filled it is pulled laterally out of the holder and along the track bars 12 to the other end of the tank. The bars 12, 14 are not attached to the tank bottom but have their ends abutting against the tank walls.
