My invention relates to a novel construction of a device for submerging ice cans to any desired or requisite depth, and comprises a bar adapted to be supported on the top of an ice can and provided with keepers at its ends in which are slidably mounted the bolt ends of a tension device composed of a central eye, and diverging: arms having their twininals deflected in opposite directions to "form bolts which latter are adapted to cup e suit able locking means supported in a brine tanl: in any suitable manner.
It further consists oi the novel coi'nbination of a tension device of the cha racter above described, which is adapted to coact with a bar having keepers or guiding means on the ends thereof.
It further consists of other novel features of construction and advantage, all as will be hereinafter fully described and pointed out in the cl aim.
For the purpose of illustrating my invention, I have shown in the accompanying drawings terms thereot which are zit-present preferred by me. since they will give in practice satisfactory and reliable results, although it is to be understood that the various instrumentalities of which my invention consists can be variously arranged and organized and that my invention is not limited to the precise arrang ennent and organization of these instrumentalities as herein shown and described.

Referring to the drawings,

The tops of the keepers 10 are slotted as at 15, so as to form guides for the vertical. pins or abutments 16 which project upwardly from the bolts 11, the terminals of said slots forn'iing stops to limit the extent of movement of said pins, as is evident from Figure 3. If desired, the pins may be placed outside the keepers 10, as indicated at 21, Figure 6. The pins or abutments 16 may be secured with respect to the bolts 11 in any desired manner. For instance, the pins or abutments 16 may be Welded to the bolts 11, although obviously other forms oi. attachment may be practiced.
The eye members 18 of the tension devices 152 are preferably disposed on a pair of cams in opposite directions, as will be understood from Figure 1.
The central portion of the bar 9 is depressed or provided with a semi-spherical seat or socket 17 in which the ball member 18 is movably mounted, said ball member carrying the pendant open ended tube 1.9, having the ports 20 therein, it being apparent that said tube is free to oscillate in any and every direction within a tank 5.
If desired in lieu of the slotted plates 7, oppositely located racks 22 having rack teeth 28 may be employed in conjunction with the bolt ends 11, as seen in Figure 5.

The pendant air tube 19 which is free to swing in any direction into which air is introduced by any suitable means, facilitates the proper freezing of the liquid, as is evident. The tension device 12 can be cheaply manufactured, and is simple and effective in its operation.
It will now be apparent that I have devised a novel and useful ice can submerging device which embodies the features of advantage enun'ierated desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description, and while I have, in the present instance, shown and described a preferred embodiment there of which will give in practice satisfactory and reliable results, it is to be understood that such embodiment is susceptible of inedification in various particulars without departing from the spirit or scope of the inven tion or sacrificing any of its advantages.
