Abstract

250,624. Bleloch, W. E. Aug. 18, 1925. Razors, safety. A safety razor in which the blade can be stropped without removing it from the holder comprises a blade-holding portion 2 formed as a continuation of the handle portion 1 and having slots 6 along its longitudinal edges to form curved teeth or bars above the inner edges of which lie the cutting- edges of the blade 3 which is held on the portion 2 by pins, tongues or projections 11, 15 engaging perforations in the blade; the tongue 15 is movable to hold or release the blade and is carried by a member 16 slidably arranged in the underside of the holder and controlled by a spring 19; the blade is further retained in position by an arched spring plate 9 which bends the blade to the curvature of the holder and keeps its edges over longitudinal grooves 8 at the inner edges of the slots 6. The plate 9 has a hooded end 23 and a tail piece 24 for engagement respectively with a recess and slot in the portion 2 and has slots to provide clearance for the tongues 11, 15.
