Abstract

250,351. Jeffries, L. P. Jan. 27, 1925. Pneumatic. - The cocking lever of an air gun or pistol of the kind having the air chamber arranged beneath or alongside the barrel is operatively connected to the plunger by a link or links and is pivoted to the body or other part of the gun in such a manner that the plunger spring is compressed by moving the lever away from the barrel. As shown, the cocking-lever 14 is pivoted by a depending lug 17 on a pin 23 carried by the closing plug at the front of the air chamber 1. The lever is extended rearwardly by two parallel side arms 15 which are connected by two parallel links 16 to a slide 12 adapted to engage a tubular extension 7 of the plunger 6. When the front end of the lever 14 is depressed, the plunger is drawn forwards and the spring 8 compressed. The rear end of the chamber is connected to the barrel 2 through a rotatable loading plug 21.
