Abstract

249,138. Urbain, E. March 12, 1925, [Convention date]. Materials for making coke and other products. -A vegetable material such as peat, wood, straw, corozo nut, starch, glucose, or lignite, is mixed with bi-calcium phosphate and sulphuric acid and the resulting paste, preferably after agglomeration, is calcined until a portion of the phosphorus is removed as hydrogen phosphide &c. and the remainder is retained in the form of tri-calcium phosphate. When the vegetable material is already partially carbonized, as in the case of lignite, the sulphuric acid may be omitted.
