Abstract

248,102. House, G. Dec. 4, 1924. Valves controlled from a distance.-A gas controller for use on low pressure systems and of the kind employing a mercury seal main valve is fitted with an atmospheric dash-pot device to prolong the flash of the bye-pass. The main valve comprises a bell B working in conjunction with a seal b<1>and connected on the one side with the bye-pass valve a<7> and on the other to a leather diaphragm b<2>. The chamber D above the diaphragm communicates with the atmosphere through an orifice controlled by a screw d<1>. An adjustable stop d<2> is provided to prevent the bye-pass valve from closing entirely.
