Capsule closures for jars &c. and comprising a close fitting cap a formed with a grooved top and a depending skirt d having three downwardly-projecting securing fingers, such as f, g, adapted to be bent beneath the beaded edge j of the jar, are provided with a disconnectible tongue i adjacent one of the fingers so that when the tongue is broken away or torn off it carries with it the adjacent finger. The tongue is formed integrally with the cap by slotting the skirt thereof immediately above the finger so that the roots of the tongue and finger comprise a narrow strip of material in common which can easily be torn across at the parts i<1>, i<2>. the arrangement disposing the tongue above and the finger below the lower edge of the skirt of the cap.
