Abstract
247,298. Baker Perkins, Ltd., Baker, G. R., and Dumbleton, C. Nov. 14, 1924. Bakers' ovens.-In an oven, more particularly adapted for baking buscuits, having an endless conveyer 5 arranged in a number of closely spaced horizontal laps, and with gas burners 17 fitted between the laps to provide both top and bottom heat for the goods, rows of heat-radiating tubes 15, preferably of porous material, are fitted adjacent the burners to equalize the heating. Some of the tubes 16 may be recessed, and some of the burners may be situated between two rows of tiles. The casing of the oven may be lined with tiles 14. The conveyer may be constructed, as described in Specification 247,503. [Class 78 (i), Conveyers &c.], to maintain the pans at all times in an horizontal position, and the feed and discharge openings 3, 4 are preferably at the same level. As shown the conveyer travels upwards in a circuitous path and then down to the discharge opening 4, but the arrangement may be reversed so that the conveyer first passes up, and then circuitously down. Specification 14408/13, [Class 28 (i), Bread-making &c.], is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
