Armouring cables and conductors. - Leadcovered electric cables have an additional protective covering of rubber. Preferably the rubber mixture may have an excess of sulphur so that intimate contact with the lead covering is produced owing to the formation of lead sulphide, or a coating of a solution containing sulphur and rubber may be applied to the lead covering. An armouring of iron may be placed over the rubber covering.
