Abstract

246,611. Brook, H S. Nov. 18, 1924. Carding-engines. - In the driving of fancies or in analogous drives an expanding pulley having one or more intermediate floating flanges is arranged on the shaft of the driven roller and the driving-band is led alternately round the expanding pulley and round a suitably disposed carrier pulley. The expanding pulley on the shaft e, Fig. 3, comprises a flange f<1> on a boss f and an adjustable flange g screwing on the boss and locked by a pin h on a nut k. A floating flange l slides on the boss. Any adjustment of the flange g towards the Range f<1> will have its effect divided between the turns of the driving-band around the pulley. The driving- band n, Fig. 1, passes from the driving-pulley o round the pulley on the shaft e and round the carrier pulley r back to the shaft e and to the pulley o.
