Abstract

245,651. Thom, J. C. April 30, 1925. Unpacking.-Relates to means for opening the wrappers enclosing cigarette containers and like packages. A plate 5 of substantially rigid material such as metal, celluloid. &c., is enclosed between the package and the wrapper 4 at the end to be opened, and by applying pressure by the thumb to the wrapper along an edge or edges of the plate the wrapper is weakened or broken and the entire end of a part thereof can be removed. The edge of the plate may be serrated as shown, or bevelled to form a blunt cutting edge. Specification 240,749 [Class 18, Boxes &c.], is referred to.
