Abstract

244,945. Wight, H. D., Park, W., and Sunderland Forge & Engineering Co., Ltd. Feb. 9, 1925. Indicating in connection with.-The overflow outlet 4<a> of an nil chamber or sump 2 of an electric motor, dynamo, or the like is controlled automatically by a rod 1 mounted in guides and pressed upwards by a spring 3 into contact with the cover 2a of the chamber, the arrangement being such that the outlet 4a is opened when the cover 2a is raised and is closed when the cover is lowered. As shown in Fig. 1, the end of the rod 1 slides in a hole 4b in the overflow fitting 4, so as to control the outlet 4a directly. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, a rack 6 on the end of the rod 1 engages with a toothed wheel 7 mounted on the spindle of a cock 8 controlling the outlet.
