Abstract

244,406. Akt.-Ges. fiir Chomische Produkte vorm. H. Scheidemandel. Dec. 15, 1924, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Depositing-machines. - Molten glue and like substances, or concentrated solutions thereof, are solidified in the form of small granules or " pearls " by causing the liquid in the form of separate drops to fall on to a cooled surface adapted to travel underneath the point of discharge of the liquid, the resulting solid particles being subsequently removed from the travelling surface as by a scraper. A cooled travelling band, rotary table, or rotary drum may be used, and the size and shape of the solids may be determined according to the height through which the drops fall. The cooled surface with the adherent solid particles may pass through a cooling-bath prior to detachment of the solid particles. The cooled surface is without any coating of material such as a fatty substance or a lubricant. Specification 239,531 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the application of the process to the formation of solid " pearls " from liquids generally. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
