Abstract

226,588. Reuter, C., (Studien-Ges. fiir Ausbau der Industrie). Sept. 17,1923. Stationary vessel wet-separating apparatus. - Materials, e.g. coke, slag, &c., to be treated are fed through a magnetic zone formed by a magnet 2, t'he non-magnetic particles passing by a hopper 5 to a trough where the light and heavy particles are separated by gravity, the separation being assisted by water from a pipe provided with a valve 7. A baffle plate 8 may be provided in the trough 6 and a counter-current of liquid may be introduced through a pipe 9. The specific gravity of the liquid may be increased by the addition of a soluble substance such as calcium chloride.
