Abstract
Improvements in apparatus for separating particulate matter from a gas stream, characterized in that each apparatus is provided with a receptacle to contain a liquid that carries particulate matter; a liquid that carries particulate matter contained in the receptacle; a hood that has an inlet for receiving gas stream containing particulate matter, an open base, and walls defining a chamber sized to adjust the velocity of the gas stream to a level less than about 914.40 m per minute, as the gas stream flows out through the open base; the liquid level being at a distance of less than 9.53 mm from the open base, and means to maintain the liquid level at said distance.
