[Classes 59 and 82 (i)] Oolitic and other iron ores consisting of granular components rich in iron enclosed by components poorer in iron are treated by comminuting them to such a grain size as to free the greater part of the iron-rich granules, screening the product to a grain size of about the larger iron-rich particle size, and subjecting the material which has passed through the screen, and after having been freed from gangue, to blast sintering.
