Abstract

Rigid-jaw wrenches; shanks.-A spanner of the type comprising two discs with nut-engaging apertures mounted adjacent the opposite faces ot one end of a lever has perforations in the discs which can be brought into alignment with a perforation or perforations in the lever to accommodate a locking bolt or bolts, the other end of the lever being provided with another pair of discs or formed as a spanner, tyre remover, screwdriver, &c. As shown in Fig. 1, two discs c, d, provided respectively with nut apertures f - - i, and j - - m, are mounted one on either side of the end of the Lever a on a pivot band secured in any position by a bolt e passing through holes in the discs. The other end of the lever n has other nut openings. The modification shown in Fig. 5 comprises pairs of discs c<3>, d' and c<4>, d' rigidly secured by rivets p to the ends of the lever a. Modified means of securing the discs to the lever are shown in Figs. 6, 7, the lever a having a notch q to engage the spindle r connecting the discs s, t and being secured by a screw u passing through a hole r in the lever and screwing into a threaded hole in the disc t.
