Abstract
243,988. Schwarz-Presse Akt.-Ges. March 9, 1925, [Convention date]. Rotary machines; tripping - arrangements. - A stop - cylinder rotary machine is constructed with a clutch drive for the impression cylinder, and in connection with the operating-lever for the clutch is a safety device which prevents the clutch from being operated except when the impression cylinder is in the normal position of rest. The impression cylinder 17 is driven by mutilated gearing 30, 16 from the plate cylinder 29, and projections 25 co-operate to start the cylinder 17 after its period of rest. The cylinder is held in its position of rest by a spring-pressed pin 14 with a ball engaging a recess in the axle 24 of the cylinder. The motion of the gear 16 is transmitted to the axle 24 by a clutch 1 splined to the axle 24 adapted to engage a clutch face 22 in the wheel 16. The clutch is operated by a U-shaped lever 21 with rollers 3 engaging a groove 26 in the clutch. The lever 21 is connected by a pin 11 to a hook 6 with an extension 19 which normally engages in an annular recess 20 in a disc 7 fixed to the axle 24. The pin 11 is embraced by a slot 5 of a lever 10 pivoted at 9, and the leverc 10 is used to operate the lever 21 to throw the clutch 1 in and out. Owing to the engagement of hook 6 in the recess 20 the clutch can be thrown out until an opening 8 allows the extension 19 of the hook 6 to be moved in the direction of the arrow 27, and the lever 10 can then operate lever 21 to actuate the clutch.
