Abstract

243,642. Bollen, G. July 16, 1925. Pulleys.-In clip pulleys, the rope a is gripped between reversible plates 4 connected by screws 25 to the pulley halves 1<1>, 2<2>. Intermediate packing plates 8 regulate the spacing of the plates 4. The rope bears on the periphery of a movable ring 9, formed of segments rigidly interconnected by links fitting in grooves and apertures therein, the tapered lower edges of the segment's bearing on tapered faces on arms 10, 11 projecting from the pulley halves. The pulley half 1 is formed with a spherical hub 6 bearing on a similar surface 7 on the hub 5 of the other half 2, so that the half 1 rocks on the half 2. A grease cup 18 lubricates the bearing surface.
