Abstract

243,292. Radnall, E. A. Sept. 14, 1925. Forks; handle-bars.-In a children's cycle, the fork 1 consists of a length of solid or tubular material bent into an inverted-U form and secured at its upper part 2 to the flattened central part 5 of a handle-bar 3 by rivets 10 or other means. The handle-bar mav be strengthened by a liner 4, and secured between its flattened part 5 and the part 2 of the fork is a plate 6 provided with a lug 7, which forms a support for the fulcrum 8 of a brake lever 9. The lower part of the fork is provided with bridge or tie members, the lower of which has a forward extension forming a guide for the brake rod 13 and an abutment for the brake spring. The brake may be' of the type acting on the tyre of the wheel, or a rim brake may be employed.
