Abstract
243,281. Senior, G. July 16, 1925. Disc closures; closures completed by outstanding packing rings.-Closures for bottles &c. are formed with apertures b, Fig. 4, through which a finger or tool may be inserted to effect withdrawal of the disc, a chamber d being provided to receive the finger and prevent dust &c.. from passing through the hole into the bottle. As shown the chamber d is formed by a cup-shaped second disc c secured to the apertured disc a, but in other forms one or both of the discs are saucer shaped. The hole b, which may be circular or be formed of two crossed slits, may be covered by a paper seal f to make evident the first opening of the bottle. In another form, an apertured metal lid a<4>, Fig. 8. formed with a chamber d, rests on a ledge within the bottle mouth, a packing ring g making a tight closure.
