Abstract

242,988. GrÚgoire, F. P. R., and Cior, L. Nov. 12, 1924, [Convention date]. Stairs are formed of slab treads 1 and risers 2 which are supported by a racked wall stringer 6 and an outer stringer beam 8; a carriage stringer beam 10 may be added. The wall stringer may consist of plaster blocks nailed to the wall, or it may be a precast reinforced-concrete stringer. The beams 8, 10 are metal and T-shaped. The treads 1 are secured by hooks 16, 17 engaging rods 12, 12<1> which pass through the beams. Plaster fillets 13 enclose the rods, and shaped blocks 18 are placed on edge beneath the treads. Blocks 21, 22 are placed in the outer cells, blocks 23 on the soffit face, and a plaster covering 25 is added.
