Abstract

Bleaching powder is rendered stable by first partially or wholly drying it and then adding a small quantity of quick-lime, preferably powdered. The bleaching powder may be dried by subjecting it to regulated heating at atmospheric pressure or by passing dry carbon dioxide free air over it or by both these means combined.
