Abstract
242,174. Damgaard, N. P. April 21, 1925. Float-valves; leakage, discharging; dirt, removing.-In order that a float operated valve feeding a cistern may open and close quickly, the float lever is formed as a pipe 10 connected to the valve box and delivering to a chamber 13 situated in the float 11, from which chamber the liquid passes to the cistern through one or more apertures 16, 15 which discharge below the surface of the liquid in the cistern, The apertures may be replaced by a longituidnal slit. The pipe arm screws into the valve box and is formed with a lug 21 which by a link 22 is connected with a pivoted lever 23 operating the valve body 7. By adjusting the length of the link 22 the cistern level may be regulated. The head of the valve has a removable closure member 26 with rubber packing 27 screwed therein. A channel 28 to collect leakage fluid is formed on the valve casing or on the valve body. The pipe-arm is formed with a nozzle 17 at the float end so as to discharge at high velocity and flush the aperture 16 to prevent accumulation of dirt.
