Abstract
A device for slicing bread includes a multi bladed knife and a frame with one fixed side 13 and one moveable side 5. The cutting implement includes a handle 15, a handle support 14, blade separation adjusters 6+7 and several parallel cutting blades. A conventional reciprocating sawing action will provide several slices of bread of a selected thickness.

Guided Multi Saw Description
With the Guided Multi Saw a user can cut loaf of uncut bread etc into slices. A number of slices can be cut at a time. A variety of thickness of slices can be cut from thick to thin. The Guided Multi Saw is thus a labour saving device. Ideal for people who prefer to make their own bread or the taste of an unsliced loaf of bread which they can slice themselves.
Fig 1 shows the Guided Multi Saw.
Fig l.1 is a bar which is attached to the base of the device along which the collar of the moveable end slices.
The moveable end moves so that a loaf of bread could be put into the device and pushes up against the loaf of bread squeezing it into position so that it stays in place whilst the user is sawing slices of the loaf.
Fig 1.2 is the collar of the moveable end. Fig 1.3 is the bolt head of the moveable end. The collar Fig 1.2 of the moveable end is pushed back and slides along the bar after the bolt head Fig 1.3 is loosened, the loaf of bread is then placed inside the device, and then the moveable end is pushed forward up against the loaf of bread until the moveable end is squeezed up against it, then the bolt head Fig 1.3 is tightened so the loaf of bread is held in position. In order that the bar does not get in the way when the loaf of bread is being placed into the device there is a gap between the bar end and the moveable end of the device which allows movement of the moveable end. Fig 1.4 are the vertical and horizontal open frame sections of the sawing frame which allows the saws to pass through to and fro during sawing.
Fig 1.5 is the moveable end of the device. Fig 1.6 is a thickness control knob of the device, when this is tightened the saws are brought closer together, when this is loosened the saws go further apart, one clockwise or anticlockwise turning of the thickness control knob has the effect of at once bringing all of the saws closer together or further apart respectively, a gauge allows correct alignment of the saws and thickness of slicing, Fig 1.6 is the thickness control knob, this rotates in a hole in the gauge disc, each of the gauge discs has a rod, a gauge fixing rod Fig 1.16 and Fig 1.17, welded to it which passes through a hole in each of the saws so that the gauge disc does not rotate when the thickness control knob is rotated, thus acting as an accurate gauge, giving accurate readings. Fig 1.S are springs, and shown is their alignment. Fig 1.9 is a saw.
Fig 1.10 is the base of the device. Fig 1.11 is a nut Fig 1.12 is the end of the bolt from the thickness control knob of Fig 1.6. Fig 1.13 is the fixed end of the device. Fig 1.14 is the handle of the saws which allows the saws to pass through the bread and will not hamper or get in the way of this process. Fig 1.15 is the handle of the saws, when this is moved to and fro through the open saw frame the loaf of bread is sliced into a number of slices at once. Fig 1.16 is a gauge fixing rod. Claims (1)
- Guided Multi Saw Claims 1. The Guided Multi Saw has a sawing frame whichhas a moveable end so that a loaf of bread can be placed into the device and then squeezed up against a fixed end, and allows the user at the turn of thickness control knobs which are moved relative to gauges to vary the thickness the device the device slices from thick to thin by altering simultaneously the separation of a number of saws, the device allows number of slices to be cut by having a number of saws controlled by one handle being moved to and fro, the Guided Multi Saw is substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanyingdescription and drawing,
