240,639. Smith, Ltd., J., and Jackson, W. E. May 29, 1925. Fixing by separate sockets with barb and like holding-devices.-Broom handle fixing devices, of the kind consisting of a sheet metal cylindrical socket 4, the walls of which have inwardly pressed partially severed tongues 1 with outwardly bent pointed ends 3 for engaging the walls of the hole in the broom head, and having at its upper end upwardly extending tongues 5 with inwardly bent pointed ends 6 adapted to be driven into the handle, are provided with one or more outwardly bent stops 7 at the upper edge of the cylindrical socket to prevent the latter from being forced too far into the hole in the broom head.
