232,484. Dicks, G. E., and Gough, S. B. Sept. 4, 1924, Fixing by separate sockets with barb and like holding devices.-An expanding socket 1 for securing the handles of brushes &c. is formed with a taper portion 2 provided with slots 3 and with an outwardly turned knife edge 4 at its end to cut into the walls of the stock when expanded by insertion of the handle. Slots 8 may be provided in the handle end of the socket.
