Abstract

240,616. Johnson, E. Sept. 2, 1924. Jacks.-A lifting-jack of the kind having multiple telescoping screws for giving an extended lift has a lower hollow screw 4 non-rotatably fixed to the casing 1 by screw-studs 5 and engaging the second lower end of a sleeve 10 adapted to slide in the casing and to be rotated by a handle and worm 13, the worm engaging extended teeth 12 on the sleeve. The screwed upper end of the sleeve engages the upper screw 6 carrying the load engaging head 7 and prevented from rotating by the load or by a sliding rod 2@ having a crosspin 24 engaging slots in the lower screw.
