Abstract

240,292. Wickware, W. H. Sept. 22, 1924. Radiators, motor-car and like. -A louver shutter for the front of a radiator is constructed so that the louvers may be adjusted in groups successively by a single operating-member. The adjustment may be effected thermostafically or from the driver's seat through electric, pneumatic or other means. The separate louvers 3 are pivotally connected in groups to side links 4, 4<1>, and are pivoted in side bars 6, 6<1>. One louver of each group has a pin 7 projecting through an arcuate slot 8 or 8<1> in the member 6 and through a cam slot 10, 10<1>, Fig. 5, in a slidable actuating-bar 9. The movement of the bar 9 is limited by pins 11, 11<1> engaging straight slots 12. The initial sliding movement of the bar 9 opens or closes the louvers of one group, and further movement adjusts the other groups. The shutter is mounted in a frame having a wide attachment flange 2.
