Abstract

219,605. Walton, A. Feb. 11, 1924. Lantern shutters.-An anti-dazzle device for headlamps of road vehicles comprises a preferably reflecting baffle plate 3 vertically pivoted adjacent one side of each headlamp 1 and operated by the driver by means of a rigid rod 8 or Bowden wire, the baffle plates 3 of a pair of headlamps being connected together in some cases by a rod 12 for movement in unison. The baffle plates are preferably arcuate in section and of substantially elliptical configuration as shown in Fig. 4.
