Abstract

240,093. Clarke, A. G., and Rowntree, A. S. May 16, 1925. Stays.-In a device for retaining the lid of a box for confectionery and the like in the open position and also to carry hingedly a transparent cover for the contents of the box, the portion for attaching the device to the box is adapted to be inserted into the joint between the back and side of the box. The device is formed with a vertical part a slotted at a<1> for insertion over the usual nail h by which the back f is secured to the side g of the box. Integral with the part a is an arm b having an upwardly projecting stay b<1> to support the lid j in the open position. A sheet of glass or other transparent material k is held in clips d, each of which is hinged on a pin c projecting from the part a.
