Post files; covers.-Pads or blocks of cheques which are permanently secured at one edge are detachably secured in a rigid protective cover, the back of which is provided with a metal channel fitted with a transverse stud or studs to engage tongues or hooks formed in the united sheets of the pad. As shown in Fig. 1, the cheques comprising the pad f are bound together with wire stitches g, and are provided with bayonet slots h to co-operate with studs d, Fig. 2 secured transversely in a separate metal channel e, which is adapted to be inserted within the back channel c of a cover having sides a, b of any suitable material. The ends of the metal channel e are provided with extensions e<1> which are folded over and crimped upon the edges of the channel c, being subsequently hidden by covering material or left exposed. The bayonet slots, in the pad of cheques are formed therein by punching or otherwise, and the inner offset portions of the slots are preferably inclined in order to exert a wedging action when the tongues i are forced home between the studs d and the bottom of the channel e. The tongues are strengthened by locating the wire binding- stitches g within them. Other forms of binding, such as edge binding, may be employed to hold the cheques together.
