Abstract

239,217. Verdun M³vek, R. T. Aug. 26, 1924, [Convention date]. Lock-mechanism, operated by non-rotating key; padlocks.-Release of a lock by manipulating the tumblers while exerting a pulling action upon the stirrup or bolt of the lock is prevented by providing grooves or flutings on the contacting surfaces of the tumblers and stirrup. The invention is illustrated in connection with a padlock. The stirrup 2, sliding in holes in a body 1, is locked by pins 3 engaging recesses 8, Fig. 2, in one leg 9 of the stirrup and can be released when recesses 7 in the pins come opposite the leg 9. The pins have flutings 10 and the recesses 8 in the stirrup have flutings 11 so that on pulling the stirrup the flutings become engaged and prevent the tumblers being moved.
