Abstract

237,338. Reid, Sir H., and MacLeod, J. April 23, 1924. Securing together machine elements for the transmission of rotary motion.-In spring drives for locomotive and road wheels &c. in which relative movement between the driving and driven members in the rotary, radial, and axial directions is permitted, a disc 7 secured to the driving-member 12 carries abutments 1, 2, 3 alternating with abutments 4, 5, 6 on a disc 8 slidable between the disc 7 and lugs 1<1> on the abutments 1, 2, 3. Ball-ended telescopic tubes in sections 9, 10 pressed apart by springs 11 bear on the abutments. The disc 8 is provided with roller-ended radial pins 13 sliding in axial slots in the shaft 14 carrying the wheel.
