Fixing by welded and screwed T-sockets.-A handle socket for carpet sweepers comprises a shell 1 made up of two sections 5 with extensions 6 for welding to the bail 1 of the carpet sweeper, and includes a flanged ring 11 for keeping the sections together and for clamping a screwthreaded lining 10 inside the socket. The bail is flattened at the centre 8 and roughened at the sides 7 to facilitate spot-welding of the extensions 6 thereon. All parts may be made of stampings and assembled by die press methods and spot-welding.
