Abstract

A flood barrier for a door opening comprising a frame permanently secured to the wall and a plurality of removable horizontal panels P. The panels P are fixed to the frame by bolts Aa and a gasket forms a seal between the panels and the frame. The panels are arranged one above the other and are sealingly engaged by clasps C to form a watertight barrier the height of which is determined by the number of panels used.

Description

THE THRESHOLD FLOOD CONTROLLER INSTRUCTION AN ASSEMBLEY The Threshold Flood Controler is a new conception in household flood controll. The concept of this invention is to replace sandbags at the door opepings to households. Sandbags in general only afford a poor efficient help at holding water out of property at times of flood, are difficult to come by and have poor shelf life in storage. Also, they are difficult to handle and erect by the lay person.
The T. F. C. offers a more efficiet service and operation, combined with long shelf life in use and storage.
Whilst some DIY skills are neccesary to install the fixings to the door frame once that task is complete the continual use of the T. F. C., when needed, becomes a gratifeingley easy task offering peace of mind to it's owner due to it's efficXency.
The T. F. C. is erectable in repetative parts for ease of handling and storage.
STEP INSTRUCTIONS OF ASSEMBLEY DIA: 1A shows the lower half of a front door, and desired fixings of T. F. C.
Part fixing'A'is a permenant fixing installed to the doorframe and step. These are an essential part of the T. F. C., as they will hold the completed structure of the erectable TFC firmley in position.
'A'is a screw in fixing with an internal thread to accept fixings'AA'.'A'is fitted to the doorframe at time of purchase and decorative blanks fill the threaded internal untill such time as their use is called upon.
ASSEMBLEY T. F. C.-STEP 1 DIA'1A'shows the internal foot assembley'FA'sittd in position, complete with rubber gasket 'GS'and as with all this erection to frame is held in place with hand type screw'AA'.
Assembley'FA'may not be neccesary if the uprights of the doorframe are flush to the step.
INSTRUCTIONS OF ASSEMBLEY STEP 2 DIA 1: 2 :-shows the frame gasket'GF'offerd to the doorframe. This can be loosley hung in place using fixings'AA'towards the top of the assembley as an assist.
STEP 3 DIA 1: 3 :- shows an end view of the first part of the exterior assembley that will be exposed to the flood water with the blank end'BE'removed for visual discernmant, also the holes allow for fixing to frame and a rough sketch of the clamp assembley.
The part'FP'with'BE'in place is offered to the base of assembley and fixed using'AA' sandwiching'GF'forming a seal.
INSTRUCTIONS OF ASSEMBLEY STEP 4 GASKET JOINT'GJ' DIA 1: 4 :- This shows the rubber seal designed to fit in slots'S'per planks'FP'to'P'. DIA 1: 5 there on'P'to'P'etc to desired height using clamps'C'. DIA 1: 5 1: 6 to pull together units over'GJ'.
DIA 1: 6 shows a section assembley.
Each plank'P'has three'C'clamps, front and back.
Two holes each end for fixing'AA'to'A'.
'FP'has'C'x 3 per side. Two holes each end and 3 holes along the bottom.
All joints and fixing are protected by rubber joints or washers.
