Tools.-A holder for supporting emery paper or other sheet abrading-material consists of a clamp having two jaws 3, which, by means of a bolt 4, grip the roll 1. of emery paper, wound on a hollow core. The jaws are mounted on a body 6 having a handle 8 and of any required shape. The emery paper passes from the roll around the body 6, the end being held by a clamp 7. A yielding layer 12 of rubber is interposed between the paper and the body 6. The ends of the roll have pasted thereon thin sheets of paper or of emery paper to prevent the emery paper from becoming unrolled accidentally. In order to permit adjustment of the roll as its diameter is reduced, the jaws 3 have therein slots 9, and the clamping effect is improved by means of ribs 10 on one of the jaws, the ribs coacting with grooves in the head of the bolt 4. The roll itself in the clamp may be used as a grinding- tool, a handle preferably being provided.
