Abstract
232,976. British Thomson-Houston, Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Hodges, W. F.). April 26, 1924, [Convention date]. Void' [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Turbines.-In brazing turbine nozzle partitions 1, 2 into annular holders 3, 4, the decarbonization of steel by a reducing gas such as hydrogen is prevented by coating the surface of the article to be treated with a layer of copper, brass or other cupreous metal. The coating may be produced electrolytically or a copper or brass shell may be fitted over the article and heated rapidly to melting temperature. The nozzle partitions are held in place by spacing members 5, 6 and the parts to be brazed are coated with copper, copper for brazing is placed along the joints 12 and copper chips 13 placed on the partition 1, 2 and the metal melted by means of hydrogen.
