Abstract
232,696. Levy, L. A., and Mason, J. W. Jan. 25, 1924. Fluorescent screens.-The screen consists of a thin sheet of waterproof material, such as cellulose nitrate or acetate, substantially transparent to the photographically active radiations emitted bv the fluorescent material with which said material is incorporated, together with a thin backing sheet of flexible waterproof material, such as celluloid, adherent thereto. The backing sheet may be a black or other colour different from that of the first sheet. The adhesive used may be insoluble in water, non-solvent with respect to the sheets, and of material, for example readily fusible gums such as dammar gum, shellac, or a mixture thereof, liquifying on heating and readily re-solidifying on cooling. The screen may be made slightly convex on the active side to obtain close contact with the photographic plate or film when in use. The Provisional Specification describes also a screen made of the usual materials and waterproofed by coating a thin sheet of celluloid on both sides.
