Abstract

232,501. Fairweather, H. G. C., (Dryden Rubber Co.). Sept. 29, 1924. Mouldings for vehicle bodies are caused to adopt an arched formation by the insertion of a strip 20 in an undercut recess 19 in the moulding, such a formation being for the purpose of obtaining close contact between the edges of the moulding and the vehicle body. The moulding, which has a canvas back 22 formed with a concave surface, is first tacked in position and the rubber strip 20 is drawn into the recess, with which it has an interlocking engagement. The fastenings for the moulding are concealed by the strip 20. The moulding is used above doors and windows and around the periphery of roofs, and may also be used for covering the edges of upholstery. A trough-section 14 may also be provided on the mouldings which may be of vulcanized rubber and have a surface grained in imitation leather.
