Syringes and like appliances.-An instrument for applying ointments, jellies &c. to cavities of the body comprises a straight or curved stem a having an olive shaped head b and formed with a narrow bore a<1> enlarged at one end a<2> to receive the perforated neck d<1> of a rubber bulb d. The nozzle of a collapsable tube is inserted in the enlarged bore a<2> and the ointment &c. is forced out so as to fill the bore a<1>. The rubber bulb is then inserted in position so that on compressing the bulb the ointment is forced out of the bore a<1> by air pressure.
