Abstract

Glass ampoules are formed (see Group XXIII), between the main body and a tapering end with a constricted ring which is shaped to predetermined dimensions whereby handling during filling &c. and fracture in use are facilitated; the neck may in addition be scored either before filling or in use. The ampoules, the tips of whose tapered ends are open, may be suspended by their necks between two smooth or profiled wires, strips or chains whereby they pass through a sequence comprising sterilizing in inverted position, and filling, sealing and printing in reverted position.
