232,359. Tombs, J. Feb. 4, 1924. Steam traps. - In a steam trap of the float type, hammering of the valve as it falls back on its seat is eliminated by somewhat reducing the suction beneath the valve. This is effected by forming the valve portion 2 with a fine saw cut 3. Where steam under higher pressure is being dealt with, the saw cut may be supplemented by forming the valve spindle 4 passing through the float with a fine bore. Specification 11276/06 is referred to.
