Openers etc.; feeding openers &c. - Preparatory to being fed to a blowing-machine, the fur is fed by hand or by an automatic hopper feeder into a receptacle a, Fig. 1, whence it is removed by spring-pressed grooved feed-rollers band treated by a rapidly revolving spiked roller c. The dirt &c. falls on to a travelling apron e or on to the floor and the fur is driven up a channel H to the fur-blowing machine. A spiked roller a<3> may be employed in the receptacle a. Leather flaps g are provided to seal the outlet from the receptacle. The roller c is enclosed by casings d', d, h. The part d is slidable in guides and can be removed. An adjustable grid or knives may be arranged berow the roller c.
